The Challenge is open to any individual or group under the age of 25.

Yes, but only one vote per person is allowed.

No. The submitted film will be disqualified if anyone votes more than once for that entry.

The jurors will screen all qualified entries and vote to designate finalists and winners. The five finalist top entries will be announced on May 14, 2018 and will be screened at an award ceremony on May 22nd at 5:00 PM at The Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts in Hartford. Winners of Best Documentary and Best Interview in a Documentary will be announced at the award ceremony.

The film receiving the most votes online by the May 14 deadline will be awarded the Public Choice Award and will be screened at the award ceremony.

Tickets will be available starting March 5, 2018 on our Event page.

  • Producer(s) of the Best Documentary will win a cash prize of $2,000.
  • Producer(s) of the Best Interview in a Documentary will win a cash prize of $1,500.
  • Producer(s) of the Public Choice Award will win a cash prize of $500.
  • Additional prizes might be awarded if Youth Film Challenge organizers secure additional sponsorships.
